Living Area

The living room in Waterview House has huge sliders that lead out onto a large screened deck overlooking the water, with views out over Anna Maria Sound and over towards the mainland. See dolphins play in the water and sailboats drift by in the gentle breezes.

The decor is simple yet elegant, with large sofas and wooden floors. A large screen TV, DVD, stereo and Hi-Speed DSL internet access make this a great "home from home", so when you are not busy at the pool, at the beach or visiting some of the local attractions you can relax in and catch up on movies, listen to music, watch cable TV and communicate with family, friends & business.

Kitchen

The kitchen and dining area features white cabinets and the appliances include a range, refrigerator/freezer, microwave and dishwasher. The kitchen cabinets contain pots, pans, dishes, silverware and small electrical appliances. You can either dine out on the screened balcony overlooking the water or in the dining area.

There is a separate laundry with washer & dryer, iron & ironing board.

Bedrooms

There are two master bedrooms with queen-size beds: Bedroom 3 has a queen-size bed and views out over the water, and Bedroom 4 has twin beds.

Linens & quilts are provided.

Bathrooms

Master Bathroom 1 has a whirlpool tub and double shower.

Master Bathroom 2 has tub/shower and bathroom 3 has tub/shower.

Towels are provided in all the bathrooms.

Outside

Waterside House is in a quiet residential area overlooking Anna Maria Sound. The private boat and fishing dock extends out into the Bay and is a great place for dolphin watching, fishing or just relaxing and watching the sailboats drift by.

A walkway leads from the house to the pool. Electrically heated for year round swimming, the pool is set among with palms and sea grapes. There is patio furniture around the pool and a grill for cook-outs is provided so you can enjoy Florida ourdoor living to the full.

If you can tear yourselves away from the view, you are just three minutes' stroll over to the 7 miles of white sand beaches and a few minutes drive to shops and restaurants.

Waterview House

This was the second house that we have rented from Anna Maria vacations and it was even better than the first one. The location and views across the bay are superb. We rented a boat from Cannons Marina on Longboat Key and kept it on the jetty (expensive but well worth it). We caught fish from the jetty (and the boat) and we loved the pool (once the heating had been sorted out - it had shut down due to cold weather when we arrived, but once reset it quickly brought the water up to a tropical temperature - powerful but slightly noisy heat pump).
The layout of the house worked well for us - although we only needed two of the bedrooms.
I suspect we'll be back on AMI next year and Waterview House will be top of our shortlist.

Waterview House

Although not the newest or most modern of houses,and suffering from some deferred maintenance, Waterview nevertheless turned out to be a gem! Major systems worked just fine, including pool, barbecue, air conditioning. Two of the fans/lights failed to work (kitchen and screened porch) but neither presented a real problem. A single call about a drain problem brought repair the same day. Instructions are lacking for several things but most can be figured out. Refrigerator water line leaked and through-door water dispenser had to be shut off while waiting for parts, but ice makers worked (including a second one in a downstairs kitchenette). Overall great space, good beds, TV, cable,WiFi and has most necessities. Incredible location! and great view from dock (heron, dolphin), sunrises. Nice walled pool area for privacy. Could have used some directions for how to use pool jet outlets and some other items, dryers very slow to dry, and did have one set of sheets that were stained and a dirty bathrug when we arrived. But in general 4/5 stars.We would all vote to return in the future.
