Sunshine Reef exceeded every expectation. The “en-suite” bedrooms were spacious, beds comfortable, linens crisp and fresh. In-door common area was tastefully decorated with a great kitchen and all necessary “home” amenities. However, what really set Sunshine Reef apart from other rentals we’ve used in the past was the backyard pool and covered, lanai-style deck area. The heated pool was at perfect temperature and the Lanai area tastefully décored with comfortable furniture and cooling ceiling fans. The Lanai also smartly outfitted with a bar, TV, a great sound system for music, and a large “game” table for cards or a board game, all adding perfectly to the entertainment factor of the pool. Truly couldn’t have been more relaxing and fun hanging out under the Lanai with the pool steps away. The lush mature plants / trees bordering the backyard provided the privacy and tropical ambiance to complete the “vacation” experience. So well done.
As for location, very easy walks to restaurants, ice cream, and beach. Rod and Real Pier Restaurant overlooking the Bay, and the Sandbar Restaurant looking out onto the adjoining beach and Gulf, were our favorite dining experiences. The nearby Donut Experiment was great fun and delicious for all.
Sunshine Reef provided the home base for a great vacation experience. There is no doubt this house rental will be tops on our list when we next return to Anna Maria for vacation fun!
