The Big Yellow House

This house was perfect for our group! We had 8 people staying there and it was very comfortable for us. The setting was absolutely perfect - right on the beach and walking distance to everything you need. The instructions were clear and it was easy to use the amenities (working the hot tub for example).
The Airbnb did not include beach chairs or umbrellas, which would have been a nice value add. Of course, there are plenty of places to rent chairs and umbrellas in town so plan accordingly!

The location cannot be beat. It’s amazing! However, a few things inside could be better. Cleaning wasn’t great. The king mattress was awful, it needs to be replaced. Bed linens weren’t good quality (couple beds were ok but in general the sheets were scratchy and low quality).

Views were unbelievable. Perfect seat for sunset every night. Pool and tub were bonuses we took advantage of. The kitchen is small and cookware limited. If you don’t plan on cooking a lot then not a problem. Easily walkable to food, bars, and restaurants.

This house is great for family or larger groups that want some separate space. The only way to the second level is the special staircase which worked out for our our group which included a baby and grandmother who stayed on the first level while others stayed on the second. Having the beach right in the backyard with amazing views all around was the best. Close to restaurants on Pine and Gulf Avenue. We were still able to enjoy the views and pool even with spotty weather. There were one or two things that needed to be addressed, and AMI addressed to them the same day. AMI also worked well with outside companies we used when we rented some items for the house. They were very easy to work with. Great stay all around.

Excellent location right on the beach!! Beautiful big deck. Easy walking to restaurants, shops etc. 3 bedrooms on ground floor. Upstairs bedrooms require a spiral staircase. Easy for us and kids, but would be a challenge if mobility is compromised.

A great place to stay, specially with kids. We had a great time. The house wasn’t fully clean when we got there but the owners made it right by the time we left. Absolutely would stay again. Location was phenomenal. Can’t wait to go back.

The Big Yellow House had amazing views of the Gulf. The sunsets were incredible from the decks or beach. The pool was a bonus. Located near the northern tip of Anna Maria, we walked to the northern point every morning! We found some great shells and intact sand dollars on our walks. The house is also located on Pine Street, the main street of commerce on Anna Maria, so we could walk to many shops and restaurants. On the downside, the house needed a bit of a "spring cleaning" from being a rental machine, but the views and overall stay made up for that and the house still deserves 5 stars. Would definitely book this house again!

This house is great! Tons of room to spread out and a nice pool. Right on the beach. There are tons of stairs everywhere so be advised on that. Excellent vacation!

The location of this house is ideal. The location right on the beach was very convenient. There were 14 of us and we all fit comfortably. Only problem was the house could have had more basic supplies like salt and pepper and oil and vinegar. Plus the deck really needs replacement and a sun awning. The kids loved the little pool as it was a shady place to relax. Loved the house!

Overall this was a wonderful property. The closeness to beach/water, restaurants, things to do was great. However, there were several things that should be addressed for a property of this pricing; The locks were hard to use (especially the front door, they did send someone out, but it didnt solve the issue), the wood deck is in bad shape (two people tripped on boards, no injury) and I woke up to flying ants in my bed & on me, fortunately there was another bedroom for us to use. They were suppose to send someone out to take care of this issue, Im not sure if they did or not, NO CALL. Again, for the price... The sunset view from the upper deck is spectacular : )

Christopher, thank you for the five-star review of The Big Yellow House. We agree that it is a wonderful property and the beach-front location can't be beat! I'm sorry that you had some issues at the home and appreciate you letting us know about it in the review. I know we came out and one of our Service Technicians disassembled the lock and thought that it was working properly. The decking was just replaced a year or so ago, but we will be sure to have someone go take a look to make sure that there are no loose boards or protruding nails. Unfortunately, we are having a very active termite season here in Florida and swarming has been occurring more than usual. The insects are drawn to light sources as they fly around looking for a new place to colonize, so the only treatment is to have a professional service come out to treat the home ~ and the companies we have called are booked for weeks in advance. If you would like to discuss your experience with us further, I would welcome the opportunity to speak with you. We hope that we will be able to welcome you back to Anna Maria Island in the future.

We had a lovely time in the Big Yellow House on Pine! Our family (me and my family, my sister and her family, and my parents) went for a family holiday vacation. My parents are older so having the house right on the beach was ideal. We all enjoyed breakfast on the deck every morning and being able to enjoy the sunset each evening from the house was perfection. Having separate areas was wonderful as my parents could be on the bottom level and the younger, more agile folks, were on the upper level. The furnishings could be updated and the kitchen is kinda small for the number of people that the house holds, but we were able to make it work for a week. We highly recommend this property.

The house was perfect for our family!! The only issues we had was the pictures showed 2 queen beds but the house only has 1 with a queen and 2 with twin beds. But we made it work. The location could not be better!!! Mornings with coffee and evenings with wine!!!! Didn't want to leave!!!

Great location! Quiet at night. Could walk to places and was right on the beach. Sandbar was just a minutes walk across the sand and it was really good. Outdoor deck needs WORK it’s dangerous. Downstairs LR furniture needs replaced and updated. Being a rental spend some of the money you’re making on durable fabric. It was really faded and outdated. Not a fan of wicker furniture. We had to wipe out fridge not cleaned good. Overall it was nice just needs a few updates. Bathrooms nice and big. Pool nice. Maybe have more beach chairs for guests that fly down. Which I know is not included but would be a nice perk for guests. Also had workers there while we were on the beach. They called but on vacation I wasn’t checking my phone all the time. So they showed up and were in the house while we were at the beach. Kids just happen to go back to find them there. Except for a few things I would stay there again. Hope they get new furniture.

Dishwasher is broken, had trouble locking sliding doors. Washer lid latch is broken and a big ant problem. For the cost of this rental, it should have been inspected and repaired.

We were in awe when we walked in. The house was so clean, as was everything in the house. It was our family Christmas Gift to our kids and grandkids. Were 12 of us staying and plenty of room for all. My wife and I were the fist to arrive and we both just said WOW.. As the kids all arrived that was exactly the way each one reacted. Would recommended this house for anyone looking for a Great beach house. The beach is just a stones throw from the house and the views are breathing taking from each room. Beautiful sunset and even had a dolphin put on a show one night... Our family ages ranged from 13 to 67 and ALL had a GREAT TIME

This beach rental house is RIGHT on the beach. My family and I invited another family along to come and we enjoyed it so much together! We rented bikes at Beach Bum and visited Anna Maria Donuts... oh my gosh! SO GOOD! The pool was fun at night and beach during the day. There was plenty of room for everyone and the sunsets were so worth going!
