About the Oyster Bar on the Pier
Anna Maria Oyster Bar has been capturing the locals’ hearts since 1997. Over these last 20+ years, the restaurant has established itself as a family-friendly spot for anyone and everyone, where the atmosphere is fun and relaxed, and the food is always fresh and delicious. While the location on the Pier is the newest, you can also find Anna Maria Oyster Bar in Bradenton, Ellenton, and Bradenton Beach.
The History
Owner John Horn has been in the hospitality industry for 40 years and is proud to have served half of those years at the Anna Maria Oyster Bar. Horn worked at Fast Eddie’s Place for a number of years before he started opening his own eateries in 1996. After the original Anna Maria Oyster Bar opened in 1997, the next location to follow was the Cortez Road location in Bradenton, opened in 2002. Just the next year, the Ellenton location made its debut. More recently, the Pier location was opened, and while it is an “A-Bridged Street” version of the AMOB, you’ll still find all the delicious food and fun of the full-size locations.
The Menu
As you might expect, this is one of the best Anna Maria Island restaurants for seafood. The location at the Pier has its own special menu for lunch and dinner, as well as a full bar. Start off with appetizers like fresh calamari or peel and eat shrimp, then move on to entrees like fresh Gulf grouper or king crab legs. You can also sample their sandwiches, soups, salads, and more. Of course, you can’t forget the oysters, in varieties like garlic parmesan, Oysters Rockefeller, or tequila lime. There is also a large kids’ and dessert menu for everyone to enjoy. Pair your meal with a refreshing beer or signature cocktail.

This restaurant operates Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m., and Friday through Saturday from 11 a.m. until 11 pm.
