Like most sunny vacation destinations, Anna Maria Island is full of souvenir and gift shops. While lots are full of expensive jewelry and home décor, many others have something for the whole family.
From crafts, to souvenirs, to surf clothing, you’ll find something for everyone on this list of the best Anna Maria Island shopping destinations for the family.
Shiny Fish Emporium
Location: 306 Pine Ave., Anna Maria, FL
For an out-of-the-sun, kid-friendly activity, head to Shiny Fish Emporium to paint a sand dollar. This great gift shop is a mermaid’s dream.
For $15, kids can sit around a craft table and paint their very own sand dollar, provided for you, with help from parents and the store’s friendly owner.
Guests can also receive a book with ideas and examples for those who need some inspiration. A ribbon is attached through the top to hang the ornament as a wall decoration or on a Christmas tree. Rather than buying a souvenir for grandma and grandpa, why not make one? The shop sells plenty of unique items, such as bracelets, costumes, jewelry, and the island’s special ukuleles. They also sell fun women’s clothing for parents to browse while kids create their masterpiece.
Pink & Navy Boutique
Location: 216 Pine Ave., Anna Maria, FL
This hip store is great for the 13-going-on-20 kids in your family. Dubbed one of the most stylish shops in town, Pink & Navy sells everything you need to look cool (and be practical) on the beach.
The shop has brand name sunglasses, cool beach towels, famous and useful S’well water bottles, and other beach gear you never realized you were missing out on. The boutique sells both kids’ and adult clothing and accessories at a friendly price. With an interior that looks like a tropical living room, complete with refurbished furniture, palm tree wallpaper, and pineapple decorations, this place is sure to get you in that “beach” kind of mood.
Location: 3304 E. Bay Drive, Holmes Beach, FL
You can get the perfect souvenir for everyone on your list here, as well as great fun beach items for the kids. They sell T-shirts, sweatshirts, decals, magnets, and tons of other gifts.
For the beach, they sell flip-flops, hats, chairs, toys, towels, and bathing suits. Kids will love the floaties, sandcastle building tools, beach toys, and other fun knick-knacks the shop has to offer.
Forget to pack something? Make Island Bazaar your first stop on the island. The shop is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. each day. You can contact the island crew at (941) 778-3443.
Beach Bums Recreational Rentals & Gift Shop
Location: 427 Pine Ave., Anna Maria, FL
This shop is where all of your kids’ Anna Maria Island adventure dreams come true. Beach Bums is part rental store and part surf shop, making it a two-for-one stop. They offer rentals of activity equipment, including bikes, paddle boards, and kayaks. Rentals are well-priced, and offered anywhere between four hours and two weeks, depending on the vessel.
Want a greener (and more fun) way of getting around the island on your vacation? Choose one of Beach Bums’ electric, street-legal golf carts instead of a rental car. You can take this cart from the beach to downtown for dinner. Carts are available as four, six, and eight-seaters, and can be rented by the hour or by the week.
Beach Bums also offers kayak tours that take you along watery mangrove forests to a no-wake zone where manatees like to hide out. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for dolphins feeding in the shallows.
Known for having some of the best prices and friendliest service on the island, Beach Bums also rents umbrellas, beach chairs, coolers, sunshades, and beach games, like corn toss, to help your kids get in the water faster.
