While you may not think of golf carts as a viable means of transport around Anna Maria Island, don’t be surprised if you catch sight of a family cruising down the road in one of these streamlined, eco-friendly carts! Driving these carts on main roads is legal on roads with speed limits under 25 mph, including the entire island.

AMIAR offers both lifted and standard golf carts. Lifted golf carts are brand new and are available with both 4 and 6 seats. They are both legal and environmentally friendly modes of transport. Prices range from $425-$525.

Standard golf carts come with 4, 6, or 8 seats. When confirming your rental, you have the choice of securing a gas or electric cart. While gas carts must be picked up at the office, electric ones will be dropped off and picked up at your rental. Daily prices range from $125-$200 and weekly prices from $450-$590.

All renters must be 25 years or old and have proof of a valid driver’s license and insurance.

Rents have three options: Half-day morning rentals from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., half-day afternoon rentals from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., and full-day rentals from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

All renters must provide a valid driver’s license and credit card, as well as a $500 security deposit. Boat operators born after January 1, 1988, must pass a boating course before operating a vessel. If you prefer, guides and captains can also join you on deck for an additional fee.

Fishing Charter

Book a 4-, 6-, or 8-hour fishing charter that takes you along the Intracoastal waterways of Sarasota and Tampa Bay. An experienced captain will help you make a catch among the luscious local grass flats and mangrove islands where you are likely to find Redfish, Snook, and Trout. Sarasota Bay’s artificial reefs also boast a variety of Snapper, Grouper, and many other species.

Costs for fishing charters are $500, $700, and $1200, respectively. Serious anglers may opt for the inshore and offshore sportfishing charters, an all-inclusive, premier fishing charter.

As a more economical option, family-fun fishing costs $55 per person for two hours. It takes families to the Sandbar, Jewfish Key, and through the Longboat Pass. Catch and release only within shallow waters. This is an excellent experience for young anglers!
