During your next Anna Maria Island vacation, you’re likely to spend long hours at the many gorgeous beaches located throughout the island as they lure just about everyone in.
Below are some tips to help you plan your days out for a memorable and relaxing beach experience:
You can rent beach umbrellas and chairs to avoid lugging them with you

- Manatee Public Beach is located at 4000 Gulf Dr., Holmes Beach, FL
You can also rent beach equipment, paddle boards kayaks, bicycles, baby supplies and other gear that you may need from local providers:

Take the free trolley to avoid parking troubles
The free trolley goes to three beautiful and frequently visited public beaches on the island with full facilities: Coquina Beach, Bayfront Park and Manatee Beach.
If you aren’t within walking distance of these beaches, be sure to use the free trolley to get to them and avoid having to drive and fight for a parking spot.
If you need to drive, it’s a good idea to arrive earlier in the day to avoid the afternoon rush. Parking is available at all of the public beaches but it can fill up quickly.
Bring a cooler with food and drinks
With some stunning and scenic waterfront picnic spots on the beaches of Anna Maria Island, planning at least one beach picnic is a must.
You can purchase groceries at the Publix in centrally located Holmes Beach, or the Anna Maria Island General Store and Olive Oil Outpost if you’re on the northern end of the island.
You can also find beach concessions at Manatee Public Beach if you prefer.
Choose a beach with facilities and lifeguards if you want to swim
Coquina Beach and Manatee Public Beach have lifeguards and are two of your best choices if you’re looking for a fun day of swimming, volleyball, or shell hunting at the beach.
Bayfront Park on the northern end of the island doesn’t have lifeguards, but it is still an ideal spot for a beach picnic with its unrivaled views of the ocean and the remarkable Sunshine Skyway Bridge.
Be sure to see the beach sunsets!
During one of your beach days, try to time your trip to arrive later in the afternoon so that you can see one of the amazing Gulf sunsets that Anna Maria Island is known for!
Keep in mind that our Anna Maria Island beachfront rentals offer private access to the beach where you’ll be able to enjoy white sand, ocean sunrises and sunsets, shell hunting, swimming, and sunbathing to your heart’s content!
