4 generations had a wonderful time at Coral Retreat the week between Christmas and New Years! The house is beautifully decorated with a fully stocked kitchen. It is in a good location and a short walk to the beach. The reason I only gave a 4 star rating is because unfortunately, we were unable to use the beautiful pool for 5 days due to a part needing to be replaced. Anna Maria Vacations state that if you would like to have the pool heated then call at least 10 days in advance. I called in early Dec. and was told that all their vacations rental pools were turned on in November to 82 degrees. I had realized that our week was the first week of the season that the home had been rented. I should have gone one step further and asked them to check to make sure the pool was at 82 degrees. This would have avoided the problem. When we arrived on the 25th, the pool was at 71 degrees! I contacted AMV on the 26th and they were great about sending someone out right away. Unfortunately the part was not readily available and unable to be installed until the 29th. Of course it was a full 24 hours until the pool heated and we were able to use it…bummer. AMV said they would compensate us but only $50 a day for 3 days which I think is super low. We had 10 people that could not use a beautiful pool for 5 days and we were paying almost $1000 a night! Note also the pool does not really get any sun. It is surrounded by beautiful palms and tropical plants but we have a number of sun worshippers that were disappointed. Of course there is the beach but if you want to just layout for 30-60 minutes in full sun you cannot. On the flip side it is nice that there is little sun for small children. My advice would be to have them check to make sure that the pool is really at the 82 degree level before you arrive.
