Anna Maria Island Voted 26th Best Island by Conde Nast Traveler

Anna Maria Island has been voted as world’s 26th best island in the world by Conde Nast Traveler Magazine’s! The Top 30 islands in the world were a part of the Reader’s Choice awards for 2014 and Anna Maria Island was the only Florida Island to make the list.

Some of the other islands that made the list included Maui and Oahu in Hawaii, Bora Bora in French Polynesia, Bermuda and many more. Our Barrier Reef Island received a rating of 81.373 and received mention for its soft white sand. The writer of the article, Jenna Scherer, mentions “A narrow band off Florida’s west coast, this barrier island has some of the softest, whitest sand on the East Coast. And as it faces west, it’s a stunning place to watch the sun set over the Gulf of Mexico.”

This isn’t the first time that Conde Nast has made mention of Anna Maria Island. In 2011 the editors dubbed our Island as the best for biking in the state of Florida. At only 7 miles long and 1.5 miles wide, Anna Maria Island has received a lot of media recognition lately. A great video posted by USA Today entitled “Chase Away the cold with a tour of Anna Maria Island” highlights some of the great activities there is to do while visiting.

Offering world renowned sunsets, quaint family owned shops and restaurants and so much more—Anna Maria Island is a wonderful tropical getaway. Whether you are traveling with family or friends, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
